The boy comforted his two Pitbull friends and took careful care of them. ‎

Meet Riddick, an adorable pit bull who was rescued by Rescue Dogs Rock NYC in 2015 after being thrown from a moving car. He was given time to heal and regain health before beginning to search for his loving forever home.

One day, Bryan Junior and his wife found Riddick’s photos on Facebook and immediately fell in love with him. They decided to adopt him in August of that year and he immediately became an important member of the family. “Riddick is the calmest, best-tempered dog you could ask for,” Junior said. “He is gentle, loving and tolerant of anything. Everyone loves Riddick. “He is just the puppy you always wanted.”

About a year after Riddick was adopted, his parents had a baby, Dawson. Riddick and the family’s other pit bull, Cambria, were absolutely obsessed with Dawson and soon became great friends. The dogs wouldn’t let his baby come to any harm and Dawson, the baby, also loves his pit bull siblings. He likes to climb on top of them, snuggle with them and help feed them whenever he can.

“If the baby cried, they both ran in to check on him. Every time she woke up from a nap, we’d say, ‘Baby Dawson’s awake,’ and they’d run in. They sit with us every night to this day when we read them a bedtime story, Cambria usually on my lap and Riddick on the floor. Dawson kisses them both goodnight and we put him to bed.” Junior told The Dodo.

Unfortunately, Dawson came down with the flu and didn’t want anyone to comfort him except Riddick. “He crawled over to the ottoman with Riddick and was just hugging him,” Junior said. “You could tell that Riddick knew he wasn’t feeling well and slept with him. He [Dawson] tossed and turned for a bit and about 30 minutes later he passed out for over an hour. “Riddick never moved.”

Fortunately, it didn’t take long for Dawson to be completely back to normal. However, even when he is healthy and happy, Riddick will always be there to care for him and help him if something happens.
